Running a half marathon seemed to me to be just the same as most life challenges, but forced into a 3 hour time period.
When I arrived at the start I couldn't see one person who looked less fit than Paula Ratcliffe, my confidence was at an all time low - and people who I knew kept coming up and saying "Are you doing the fun run then?" or "You don't run do you!" or "No, I haven't been able to train as much as I'd like but I did do the London Marathon in under 4 hours!!"
Phew.... I wanted to run.... but ...HOME!!
However I had made a commitment and simply had to carry it through.
That was it.
It was tough - I cant pretend that it wasn't, - but I was no where near last in the field, and I ran for 95% of the way, which was truely the most I could do.
It was just like this darned diet, its tough, there's ups and there's downs, but I've made that commitment and so there we are. There was no excuse for me on that run so I had to get on with it. There's no excuse with healthy eating and exercise, its down to me, I'm getting on with it.
Are you? - or have you yet to make that commitment - are you running scared me dears? If so try a half marathon it makes eating less chocolate look like a doddle (well for today at least!)
Thanks to Anna who sent me five inspirational mp3's to play on the way round...I'm not sure if I'll make slimmer of the week though as she is going for GOLD on 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Good luck Anna.

Oh my goodness! YOU DID IT! I am so impressed with you. If I can run 95% of a measly 5K I'll be a happy camper!
CONGRATULATIONS! And don't feel badly if you haven't lost this week...there may be SWELLING! Have a piece of chocolate. You deserve it!
