Business Needs Passion

passion, passion, PASSION, PASSION, PASSION ! Where is it in business? I want passion to come back, I miss it. My old role as a Corporate Director led to huge frustration....people wanted creativity, but creativity by consensus! The risk of appearing controversial meant that leaders went for the middle path..less risk there. We have to get this passion back -  a good old discussion is NOT controversial, it is a discussion and can be energising, and lead to greater creativity. For me I have always used this formula - the word always made me smile, smiling made me feel better and that's why I have stuck with the unfortunate acronym!

                                         C + R + A + P2 = S

C= Clarity of what you are trying to achieve and then ensuring that everyone else understands  - and this is continuous.

R= Radar - have the ability to continuously be looking around for new opportunities, new threats. This means continuously talking to customers, people, suppliers, and reading!

A= Accountability. Ensure everyone understands how they add value and hold them responsible for the execution of a great days work.

P= Passion squared! Ensure that you build a team that is passionate about the vision. Don't accept mediocrity. Know it is a vital part of your job to lead the culture and bring people in with the key attitudes that you require to achieve the vision.

S= SUCCESS
