1st Step to Engagement

As I posted yesterday the first step in employee engagement is to make yourself attractive to talent...very like the other kind of engagement!

What do I mean by the phrase attractive?

Do you as an employer have a Unique Selling Point, what is it ? Why should people join you?

What does your target talent market look for in a prospective employer?

How will you benefit the individual if they join you...is it experience, development, flexibility, CSR ?

How do you communicate it  - does every interaction convey this brand essence from your adverts, letters, contracts, welcome program, interviews etc

Do you put as much effort into re-recruiting your existing employees?

This last one is a biggy! Your existing employees should be your biggest employment brand advocates. Do you re -recruit them constantly, making sure that they are still attracted to you as an employer, does each one of your employees know what your employment brand is, and how they can tap into the USP?
