A Special Day in my Blogging Life
Today I had the most wonderful conversation - which I have recorded for the next podcast, so don't miss it! - with Dr Ellen Weber. She has to one of the most wonderful people. I felt as though I had known her for years. I have loved her blog for ages ....Brain Based Business and we made contact through our blogs. I had been looking for someone to come on the show and explain how the brain works, the show has often concentrated on how to lead...but I want to explore how the brain works and how motivation works...if you like the why.
Speaking with this wonderful lady, made me realise how amazing the world of blogging is...there I was speaking to someone in New York that I would not have ever met if I had not started my blog. We were speaking, with an insight of each other through our blog writing...So what was it that engaged me with her "personal brand"
- She made an emotional connection with me - discussing dementia, which is what my beloved dad died of
- She freely gave information, she shared her knowledge leaving me feeling that I had received the most wonderful gift of learning.
- She gave me positive reinforcement - making me feel good about the interview.
- She spoke with a smile....although I could not see her, I could still see her smile.
I talk about employee engagement, today I was the recipient of a leader who wanted to engage and it felt wonderful.....that is the power of human connection.
