10 Lessons on How To Boost Profits

When I work with companies I always ask what has been the biggest lessons in how to improve profits....here are the latest top 10 thoughts

  1. Profit is created by people not accountants.
  2. Profit is about adding value- to add value to external customers first you have to add value to your internal customers.
  3. People don't do it because you tell them, they do it because you inspire them to want to.
  4. People don't want to because of what you say, they want to because of what you do.
  5. Employees are an asset and like any asset if neglected, their power will deteriorate.
  6. Growing profits are created by growing people
  7. Business value is created by strong internal values
  8. Business needs a vision, people need a dream....engagement and success come when the two are aligned.
  9. Customer loyalty is built from positive feelings of dealing with you, employee loyalty is built from positive feelings of working with you.
  10. Business is made up of people, customers are people, products/services are delivered by people....leadership is about people.
