What is real power?

When I am coaching or speaking on motivation, possibly the most used phrase in the Q&A sessions goes something like..."but what do you do if you don't have the power...."

You HAVE the power - because the real power that any individual has, lies within themselves. Power is not in a title, power comes from within.

The real power is understanding your strengths and your areas of development. The real power lies in your ability to influence/persuade...the real power lies in painting a picture of the future that is so compelling that people do not feel that they can turn you down. Real power is not in a title, real power comes when you do what you say you are going to do and people trust in your ability to deliver on your promises, time after time. How do you achieve that? Well, ....

...the real power lies in you believing in your own value.Think about your house, you don't just get power to light the rooms...you have to agree a contract of value to both parties (Electricity vs Payment)
