Leadership by Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has just won the US open and what an example of how to stay cool under pressure and also how to back your ability through the great and the bad times. It was a privilege to watch not because he played well - he didn't really - but how he won

  • You could see how he visualized each shot. He never took a shot without knowing exactly what he wanted to achieve.
  • He didn't just see the shot but how the slopes, the course could help him achieve the best shot. He thinks, he sees shots that others don't see.
  • He was injured but never concentrated on what could stop him from winning just played with the injury.
  • When he needed to produce the killer shots he did...he believed in his ability at the key points
  • Patience. There were ups and downs but he knew that there were 18 - in the end 19 holes - to win. It was not what he did over one shot but over the course of the holes.
  • Practice breeds confidence. Confidence to back your ability when you need it.

Tiger is incredible....not just as a golfer but as a winner. He doesn't fear winning, he loves winning. Leadership is all about thriving on the pressure, thriving on the desire to win. If you want to learn about self management then Tiger is a wonderful example.
