Engaging others is part of our roles, however engaging yourself is by far the most important factor in engaging consumers or employees. When you are engaged then you are focused, passionate, inspired - all of which help you inspire and engage others.
How much time do you spend each day on your own engagement level? How much do you think of ways of keeping your work fresh, of changing and stretching your own goals? How often do you think about your dreams and how you can "live towards their reality?"
When I work with companies, the biggest problem usually lies with the lack of engagement at their own individual level...when we sort that out, when we engage them to their own passions, their own dreams....yes, I will say it again...it becomes contagious!
So today's deep thought (!) is "When did you last research and market to your own needs and values, when did you last engage yourself?"
