I remember Dad giving me a great piece of advice when I was trying to think of a way of redesigning our customer service offering...he said "Think and be lazy!"
"What, why be lazy?"
"Because customers want simplicity, they will pay a premium to people who make their life easier, simpler"
In the social media age, I think this is even more true and should be at the core of your offering. When I give presentations at speaking events the best thing I can hear is "You make it sound so simple", that means that I have created value.
So how can your business
- Simplify its structure to allow everyone to be nearer to the customer?
- Simplify the buying process...quick, simple, accurate
- Filter all the **** and give a simple answer to their problem
- Act as a coach to lead the customer to the best solution to their problem? Controversially even if that does not mean your service or product.
- Reduce the information
- Make it easier to connect with a human being
Dad said "You have to work really hard and ridding your business of complexity..it is not easy to create simplicity. Being lazy takes hard work, but the key is you doing the hard work not the customer"
