The people around you are incredibly important, here are 5 reasons why you want them to succeed.
- If they succeed, they deliver their objectives which are linked to your objectives. They succeed, you succeed.
- Success brings motivation, leading motivated successful people is easy then leading failing demotivated people!
- You build your reputation as a great leader.
- Success is attractive to future talent. They want to work for people that brings the best out of people.
- Increases your desire to learn, develop and grow to ensure that you stay ahead. The more you grow the more potential you show to others.
Anna, it's amazing when you take your eyes off yourself it truly is fulfilling watching those around succeed. By no means does it have to be a feeling of competition but a sense of great completion.

Really nice entry to the project. I always enjoy seeing people succeed, especially when I play a role in their success.

Great Post. I think the key is in the first point you make. The leader needs to allign his/her objectives with the team's objectives. If they are not linked/alligned then it really break the trust between the team and leader because the team could question the leader's reason for leading. The goal of a leader is to lift up the team, not the team lift the leader up.

All of your points allow the team, the individual and
others to share in the success everyone engenders! It's a win-win situation.
