Social media allows you to enhance the customer experience, it allows you to show your personality, explore your passion of your cause, service or product....it can stimulate emotion.
I say that 'it can' because I still feel that too often we can all be caught up in conveying a message rather than an emotion, a passion....I think we can sometimes create the experience and in so doing create that 'emotional photo' for customers to share...but
"Do we have or even think about creating an emotional photo album?"
If you think about a holiday, a photo may capture a moment...but an album creates a memory of the whole experience. When you are marketing, selling, serving, asking for money, prospecting, finalising a sale, delivering etc....
Do we see them all as a chance of creating that photo album?
Do we see each tweet, each update, each blog as part of that photo album?
The reason why I ask is that our customers do, each interaction is part of the brand album.....if we don't see it that way, then we are missing a trick.
Interesting thought. We'd pretty much sidelined photography as a marketing tool, but as you say it can create an emotional response in clients.
We might need to rethink.

A great message in a well pieced post. Many of us fail to deliver on our brand promise, neglecting our clients needs for substantial value.

It is true, as @Andy puts it, that you are mentioning an interesting view of the matter here. However, I don't really consider photo albums, or more specifically speaking "emotional photo albums" to be a crucial element when it comes to marketing, selling, serving, asking for money, prospecting, finalising a sale, delivering, or any other business activity. Images are very important simply because they end up being attractive for the viewers but maybe we are going to far if we expect businesses to elaborate emotional photo albums to do business online. But you know, it is just an opinion.

Based on experience, most marketing heads and colleagues I worked with did not even value engaging the market's emotions in marketing or endorsing the products for that matter. As an advertiser, I know the power emotions have in drawing attention and interest. But for my colleagues before, they always jump right on the selling part and miss out completely in holding, let alone capturing the market's attention.
